MEET SARA

Sara Kercho is pursuing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through Lamar University with an anticipated graduation date of Summer 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Science in International Communication from Texas Christian University. Sara has a decade of experience as a public high school fine arts dance teacher and drill team director. She prides herself on the relationships she has built with her students and always strives to provide any students with a safe, inclusive environment to explore, connect, and create without judgment. She has presented workshops focused on social-emotional learning at both the Center for Educator Development in Fine Arts Summit & Texas Dance Educators Convention. She enjoys providing mental health resources and leadership training to both dance students and teachers.

Sara is a current member of the American Counseling Association and working toward her certification in Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga. Her approach to counseling is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy, but her priority is providing the best approach for your individual needs and goals. Sara’s goal is to create a therapeutic relationship based on empathy and empowerment. She understands that taking the step to come to counseling can be uncomfortable and she is ready to meet you where you are in your wellness journey.
